If you need/want these existing holes on # 2 tapped to be sure to fit the 10/24 set screws (.75 cents additional) we have, the cost is .25 cents per hole (average # of holes 6-8)

A split spindle is used with "push-button" locksets so that when you "set" one push button, the knob will turn from one side only (the inside), while being locked from the outside. Resetting the buttons will unlock it from both sides.
The center opening in a lock is sometimes a larger diameter for one side or both sides than the spindle size for the knobs.

Some spindles are 9/32" to the knobs but have a larger 3/8" center for 1 or both sides where it goes through the lock
